In the name of the chairman of the town council in the village of Pohoří, I'm welcoming you into our village. We are very delighted with your visit on our Internet page and we hope that you will visit our village personally on the occasion of a cultural event or possibly like tourists! So that you could get to our village, you must know where it is. Pohoří lies in the foothills of Orlické hory in the district Rychnov nad Kněžnou about 5 kilometers from the town of Dobruška. Large cities around here are approximately in the same way off. The nearest big towns are Náchod (20 kilometers), then our district town Rychnov nad Kněžnou (23 kilometers) and third Hradec Králové (27 kilometers). In the village 212 flats and houses are registered and 603 inhabitants live here. In an area of 637 ha complete infrastructure is constructed, which serves all the citizens, they are a good network of roads all over the village, telephone network, newly reconstructed street lighting, municipal wireless, water supply and drainage with sewage works. In village there are kindergarten, a primary school (5. classes), a gym-hall, a restaurant, some shops and an open-air Cultural center in the summer.There are St. John Baptist chapel, cemetery, firehouse, private enterprise center, where some self businessmen works and car 3 car repair shops (one car garage is connected with bus transport), football field, tennis and volleyball sport grounds. A small river Zlatý Crk floes through the village and 3 ponds, which were cleaned and reconstructed after the destructive flooding in July 1998. Public bus transport which runs through the village centrer and the railway service (railway goes at the end of the village) connect our village with its surrounding areas.

We don't have the Post office here, we use post service in Dobruška (post code 518 01). The nearest medical care is Opočenská nemocniční, Inc. (hospital in Opočno). The nearest cinema is in Dobruška. Storks come into our village every year. White stork has settled down here forever. Every year they have 2-3 offspring. They find varied food in the near by meadows. We are glad that we can help a little to preserve whit Stork in our nature.
